Petition For Formal Government Inquiry Into Circumstances Surrounding
The Disappearance Of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

We, the undersigned, submit this Petition and formal request for an official Indian government inquiry into the highly suspicious circumstances surrounding the disappearance of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

Known worldwide as an unalloyed, pure devotee of Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada is the Founder/Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, an internationally recognized spiritual institution with Temples throughout the world. As a renowned teacher and Sanskrit scholar, His Divine Grace authored over 100 books, including translations of Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Srimad Bhagavatam (30 volumes) and Sri Caitanya Caritamrita (30 volumes).

Acknowledged by millions as one of the most prominent and influential spiritual personalities to ever travel the globe, His Divine Grace was the foremost proponent of Krishna Consciousness in the West. He appeared in 1896 in Bengal and disappeared from our view in November of 1977, while in Vrindaban, India, under highly suspicious, and possibly illicit, circumstances.

After careful review of a plethora of evidence accumulated by devotees worldwide, it is the humble, but studied, collective opinion of the undersigned that the highly suspicious circumstances which surround the passing of His Divine Grace from this world now requires a full, formal and timely government investigation, if for no other reason than to clear those persons who would otherwise be implicated.

The specific evidence on which petitioners base their request is voluminous and will be made available to government investigators upon request. Suffice it to say, there exists an abundance of testimonial, forensic and circumstantial evidence, including: tape recordings of statements made by His Divine Grace as well as other persons; hair samples indicating possible arsenic poisoning; acoustic examination and analysis; and, medical records. All of this evidence, and more, points to the possibility of foul play by persons who arguably had the requisite motive, opportunity and capability.

Based on the fact that His Divine Grace was an Indian national and that His passing took place in India within the context of alleged foul play, absent a formal inquiry by the Indian government into this matter the undersigned petitioners have no adequate remedy available to them.

The undersigned therefore respectfully implore the Indian government to grant this request to begin a formal inquiry into these serious allegations.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Undersigned devotees,
